Twin Peaks has many thought provoking, emotional, and atmospheric moments throughout. There's so much that i've gotten out of it, and I wish I could like it more but for whatever reason after watching some, I just get, bad vibes.

It's not the atmosphere (the Pacific Northwest, 4:3, 90s 'vibe' which are great), it's something more subtle. It's not even necessarily the otherworldly elements like the black lodge. Just watching a typical 'real world' scene sets me up for a strange state of mind for several hours afterward. Is it something like the dialogue? It reminds me of Wes Anderson movies where there feels to be a stiffness to the characters that makes everything feel non-human, which is strange to compare to Twin Peaks when the content of so much of the characterization is trying to be very human.

A lot of stuff I would otherwise really like and be able to spend lots of time with I just can't because of the strange vibe it gives me for hours after. It isn't even just 'bad' feelings because a piece can be emotional and very sad but cathartic and great. It's when it gives you a 'weird' vibe?
